RusAutoNewsCom. - As announced by the company press office, Avtotor has begun to manufacture the new models of Ford Trucks from the road series - model 1833 with 4×2 wheel formula and model 2533 with 6×2 wheel formula.
The new series is an updated version of the Ford 1832 and Ford 2532 models, which were well-established in the Russian market. The more powerful and economic Ecotorq Euro-5 engine up to 330 hp is the main different feature of the new models. The vehicles are equipped with a 9-speed transmission, have two wheelbase lengths and two cabin versions: a day one and a high two-sleeper one.
The gross weights of the vehicles are 18 and 25 tonnes and the payloads are 12 and 18 tonnes respectively. The vehicles from the series can be used for short distance and intercity transportation, aimed at construction goods for public services. The Ford trucks are equipped with various types of special bodies, such as: truck loader cranes and dump trucks etc.
The first trucks will be available at dealer centres in November 2018.
The Kaliningrad plant has been manufacturing large-capacity Ford trucks since 2013. Avtotor has been implementing the development project of the full-cycle production of commercial vehicles with welded and painted cabins since 2017.
The commercial vehicles manufactured at the enterprise in Kaliningrad are equipped with a wide range of universal and special superstructures, produced in Russia.
