The serial production of Aurus will start within the first quarter of 2021


 

TASS.- The serial production of the Russian automobile Aurus will start within the first quarter of 2021 at Ford Sollers factory in Elabuga in Tatarstan, as stated by the press office of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, following the visit of the minister Denis Manturov to the plant.

The pilot production is expected to be made in November 2020. According to the data presented, 360 automobiles are planned to be manufactured in 2021, 1724 in 2022, 4030 in 2023 and 5274 in 2024. The technological equipment is planned to be prepared in February next year, to be assembled in August 2020. The commissioning works will start in October 2020, on the other hand.

As emphasised by the ministry, the full-cycle production will include stamping, engine production and shops for assembly, painting and welding. Engine production will include machining and final assembly.

A total number of more than 600 pre-orders have been received for the vehicles since February 2018. The automobile will have a price tag of 18 million rubles (appoximately $287 thousand) with basic components, as told by the general director of Aurus company Adil Shirinov.
