Drive Electro has handed over the first electric truck for testing

Autostat.- Drive Electro company, the developer of batteries for Moscow electric buses, has handed over the first Russian production electric truck Moskva to the Magnit supermarket chain for test operations. Built on the basis of Kamaz chassis and being equipped with an 229 kW electric engine, the truck stands out with its compliance with environmental standards. The vehicle ensures a reduction of carbon emissions to the atmosphere by 87 tonnes per year.

Moreover, as claimed by the developers, the cost of owning such a car in 10 years will be 20-25% lower than a traditional one, due to the use of an alternative type of energy and a lower rate of wearing in the main components of the car. The electric truck is comparable with its world leading rivals in terms of technical features: 110 km/h maximum velocity, 200 km fully charged travel range and a payload of 9 tonnes, similar to the capacity of the diesel version. The vehicle can be charged in two options: the fast version in 20 minutes and the longer night version, which takes 8 hours. An ordinary industrial 380 volts network can be used as a power source for the vehicles.

In accordance with customer requirements, the vehicle has been equipped with an isothermal van and a refrigeration unit, in order to preserve the freshness of the products at a maximum level, as well as a tail lift with a capacity of 1500 kg.

Moskva electric truck has been presented with a charging station. In accordance with the current plans, the vehicle will transport products from the distribution centre of Magnit in Dmitrov to the stores of the company in Moscow. Depending on the success of the testing process, which will take 6-12 months, Drive Electro plans to carry on with the production and supply the trading network with another 200 units of similar vehicles.
