RusAutoNewsCom.- As reported by the company press office, Avtotor will develop cooperation with Russian component manufacturing companies and enterprises operating in the EAEU countries.
Currently, there are more than 30 ongoing projects within the framework of the localisation programme of Avtotor. The total volume of car component procurements in the domestic market of EAEU amounted to 2 billion rubles in 2020.
Moreover, as emphasised by Avtotor Centre of Localisation and Outsourcing, the company has increased the purchase of locally manufactured products for passenger cars through the new projects. The relevant figure amounted to 1.7 billion rubles in 2019 and 2020.
It’s noteworthy that despite the 27% shrinkage in production numbers in 2020, car component purchases fell by only 10%.
Avtotor will gradually implement programmes designed to increase the level of localisation within the scope of the strategic tasks and the priorities of the development of Russian automotive industry. The localisation programme of Avtotor aims to develop the cooperation and production ties with Russian enterprises, organise new high-tech production in Kaliningrad region, which would attract investment in the regional economy, create jobs and increase the tax base.
All the new full-cycle production model range of Avtotor has been included in the localisation programme of the company in 2020, the passenger car models of KIA Soul, KIA Seltos and Hyundai Sonata in particular, alongside the upgraded line of Hyundai HD – Mighty commercial vehicles. The volume of additional deliveries of localised vehicles amounted to 230 million rubles in the debut year of production.
