UAZ has approved plans on electric car production

RusAutoNews.- As reported by drom ru, the main features of the electric car development strategy of UAZ have been presented by the chief designer of the company Oleg Krupin. According to Krupin, the future of the Ulyanovsk plant depends on electric vehicles. The three future electric vehicle lines are based on the drive system developed by the Czech company MV Motors and implemented in two prototypes on Spartan EV vehicles, assembled on the basis of UAZ Hunter.

Krupin has presented the four-stage production plan of Spartan, which will be carried out in Ulyanovsk. According to the presentation, the project is currently in its first phase. There’s still a lot to be done in commercial efficiency evaluation, prototype assembly, testing and component localisation. It would only be possible to talk about production, once these processes are completed.

The electric drive system will be converted to domestic components and adapted to other UAZ models – Profi and Patriot.
