AvtoNovostiDnya.- Due to systematic downtimes caused by component shortages, Avtovaz has under-produced by approximately 100,000 vehicles this year. According to various estimates, these losses compare to three-months sales volume of the company, which have been declining for several months in a row.
For instance, the dealers managed to sell 19,400 automobiles in August, when the new Lada was already in deficit, which is equivalent to a 32% shrinkage year-on-year. The sales plummeted by 51% in September to 17,200 units and by 31% to 25,500 and 26,300 units in October and November respectively.
As emphasised in the Vkontakte social network, the backlog in assembly reached over 60,000 vehicles within the June-November period. In addition, the factory has remained below the planned production figure by nearly 40,000 automobiles in autumn, 8500 of which had to roll off the conveyor in November.
As reported, the Lada dealers will not be able to place orders on four models for January, due to the limitations in production: Lada Granta family, Lada Vesta cross-sedan, Lada Vesta SW cross-estate and the five-door SUV Lada Niva Legend.
