RusAutoNews.Com - KIA sales up by 26% in Russia in May. As stated by KIA Motors Rus press office, Russian KIA dealers have sold 15,121 vehicles in May, which is equivalent to a 26% year-on-year rise. According to preliminary data, KIA has kept its leadership amongst the foreign car brands represented in Russia, with 12.2% market share. 68,434 KIA automobiles have been sold in Russia within the first five months of the year (+20.1%). The market share of KIA is estimated to have risen by 1.5 percentage points year-on-year to 11.9% within the January-May 2017 period.

KIA sales figures: Rio has become the most popular KIA model in the Russian market, with a sales figure of 8083 sedans and hatchbacks in May (+6.8%). The crossover Sportage occupies the second spot, which was preferred by 2258 clients, following a 59.9% year-on-year increase. KIA cee’d has kept the third place in the ratings with 1267 units (+25.8%).

The business sedan KIA Optima has set a record in May, with a 3.5 times increase in sales to 1001 units, exceeding the 1000 vehicles mark for the first time in its history. All eight models of KIA - Cerato, Optima, Sorento Prime, the updated Mohave and Soul, cee’d, Sportage and Rio - have shown positive sales dynamics in May. The launch of special series, dedicated to FIFA 2017 Confederations Cup, to the Russian market has contributed to the demand growth for Rio, cee’d, Optima and Sportage last month.
