Russia and Korea are carrying out negotiations on the creation of an engineering centre for the development of electric cars

RNS - Russia and Korea are carrying out negotiations for the establishment of a joint engineering centre to develop electric cars and buses. The relevant statement has been made by the minister of industry and commerce: Denis Manturov at Innoprom-2018 Exhibition in Yekaterinburg.
“Currently, Hyundai Motor Studio Goyang and St. Petersburg Peter the Great Polytechnical University are having talks on the creation of a Russo-Korean engineering centre for the development of electric cars and buses” - Manturov said.
Manturov has added that a similar cooperation is being implemented in shipbuilding, where joint innovation centres are planned to be created between the two countries, on the development of marine technologies.
“Such structures, which might act as industrial system integrators of digitalisation, need to be formed in other sectors of engineering. Surely, the participation in the development of unmanned transport systems is in the best interest of Korea, as well. Our largest corporations have already begun to implement road maps for unmanned maritime, ground and aviation vehicles. Given the capabilities of the GLONASS orbital grouping, we have everything that would make the creation of the transport systems of the future possible” - Manturov noted.
