Automobile production in Russia up by 16% within the first eight months

 

RusAutoNewsCom. – Automobile production in Russia has increased by 16.3% year-on-year within the first eight months of 2018. According to ASM Holding data, 1,117,384 units transport vehicles (trucks, cars, buses) have been manufactured in Russia within the January-August period of 2018.

Passenger cars production has increased by 17.9% year-on-year during the aforementioned period, with 996.8 thousand units. The production of foreign brand cars in Russia went up 16.8% to 741 thousand vehicles.

LCV production has also grown in the same period, by 13.8% to 77.9 thousand units.

Truck production, including light trucks, has risen by 5.4% within January-August period of 2018, amounting to 95.6 thousand units. The output of foreign brand trucks in Russia went up by 26.8% to 18.3 thousand units.

Bus production, including microbuses, has increased by 2.7% during the aforementioned period, with 25.2 thousand units. The output of foreign brand buses in Russia went down by 4.2% to 2.0 thousand units.

As reported previously, the Russian government expects 13% growth in automobile production in Russia by the end of 2018.
