RusAutoNewsCom. – As announced by the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee, Russian car market has decreased by 3.6%, or by 4771 units year-on-year in February 2019, and amounted to 128,406 vehicles.
Within the first two months of this year 231,470 cars were sold in total.
Joerg Schreiber, Chairman of the committee commented: “For the first time in almost 2 years, market sales in February showed a downturn compared to the prior year result. Consumer confidence has been in decline for several months now, so this dip into negative territory is not entirely unexpected. The key question is where the market is headed in the coming few months – back to stability and growth or in the opposite direction. The present outlook is not too strong. This includes recently announced government measures in support of car purchases, for example for young families, which are too limited in scope to make a fundamental difference”.
Lada was the most populer brand of the Russian car market in February 2019 with 27,011 units sold. Lada Granta was the most populer car model with 10,574 units sold in February.
