Russian used car market has plummeted to half its size in April 2020


 

Autostat.- Russian used car market: According to analytical agency Autostat data, 251,800 second-hand cars have been sold in Russia in April 2020, indicating a 48% year-on-year shrinkage.

Russian brand Lada has kept the leadership of the market with a share of nearly a quarter of all used car sales. The sales figure of second-hand cars manufactured by Avtovaz has fallen by 51% in April 2020, to 60,500 units.

The second and third spots are occupied by Japanese brands in the ratings, Toyota and Nissan with 32,500 and 14,900 units respectively. The sales of Toyota were down as well within the aforementioned period, by 38% and Nissan by 45%.

The top-five has been completed by Korean brands Hyundai with 12,600 units and KIA with 12,000 units, both indicating about 50% year-on-year shrinkage.

As stated by experts from Autostat, approximately 1.5 million used cars have been sold in Russia within the first four months of 2020. The figure indicates a 10% shrinkage of the used car market, in comparison with the same period of 2019.
