GAZ has unveiled its new pre-serial GAZelle e-NN

RusAutoNewsCom.- GAZ Group has showcased its first pre-serial GAZelle e-NN vehicles – an executive-class minibus, a shuttle van and a crew van.

The new model makes it possible to build a complete lineup of LCVs, including drop-side trucks, minibuses, vans and various specialty vehicles.

The new vehicle combines unified parts (incl. chassis, body and compartment) of GAZelle Next and all-new electric systems, e.g. traction batteries, electric motor, voltage converter, charger, etc. Its gross vehicle weight is 4.6 tonns with the payload capacity of up to 2.5 tonns. The electric motor has 100 kW maximum power and 310 Nm maximum torque. The battery storage capacity is 48 kWh. The vehicle can run 120 km on a single charge at the maximum speed of 100 km/h. If required by the customer, additional batteries can be installed increasing the range up to 200 km. The system supports fast-charging technology that charges the battery up to 80% in 30 minutes.

Vadim Sorokin, GAZ Group President has stated: “The serial production that we are getting ready for at the moment, opens up great opportunities for electric vehicle development based on our in-house engineering and production competencies. The main goal for GAZ Group as well as for the Russian automotive industry in general is to arrange in-house production of major parts and systems for electric vehicles. This can help to deliver technological independence for Russia in the context of global changes, to develop in-house engineering competencies and to make Russian products more competitive at the global market.”
