HONDA will discontinue automobile supplies to the Russian market in 2022


 

RusAutoNewsCom.- Honda will discontinue the supply of new automobiles to the Russian market in 2022, according to a company statement, as stated by TASS.

According to the Russian website, only two models are being sold in the Russian market officially: the CR-V and Pilot crossovers.

“The decision has been taken within the framework of the development strategy of the automotive business of Honda Motor, in line with the restructuring of operations under the conditions of continuous change in the global automotive industry” – as stated by the company.

“The company will continue its existence in the Russian market with motorcycles and engines and carry on with the operations concerning the after-sales service of automobiles” – the company said.

According to AEB data, a total number of 1400 Honda vehicles have been sold in the Russian market within the January-November period of 2020 (-15%), compared to 1800 units in 2019 (-64%).
