Hyundai St Petersburg plant has increased production by 40% during the first half of the year


 

Autostat.- St Petersburg plant of Hyundai has manufactured 123,000 vehicles during the first half of 2021, which is equivalent to a 40% year-on-year growth. As one may remember, Hyundai Solaris, Hyundai Creta crossover, KIA Rio sedan and KIA Rio X cross-hatchback models are manufactured in the enterprise. All of these models are amongst the most demanded vehicles in the Russian market, the compact crossover Hyundai Creta being the permanent leader of the SUV market.

As reported by Hyundai Motor CIS press service, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus plant plans to manufacture more than 230,000 automobiles in 2021 (+5% year-on-year), continuing to operate in three shifts, five days a week. The director of production at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus factory has particularly emphasised that the enterprise will manufacture 40,000 first generation Hyundai Creta crossovers according to the 2021 business plan, which will be completed by the end of June. The mass production of the new Creta will start at the St Petersburg plant by the beginning of July, 20,000 units of which will have rolled off the conveyor of the factory by the end of the year.
