Autostat.- Russian Volvo dealers have sold 4,615 automobiles within the first six months of 2021, which is equivalent to a 83% year-on-year growth. In the meantime, 1,005 vehicles of the Swedish brand have been sold in June, indicating a 79% rise, in comparison with the same period of the previous year, as reported by the press service of Volvo Car Russia.
The XC90 SUV has become the best selling Volvo model in the Russian market within the first half of the year, with a sales figure of 1,464 units. The medium-size crossover XC60 was at the heels of the bestseller in terms of sales during the aforementioned period, with 1,403 units. The top-three has been completed by the compact crossover XC40, which was preferred by 908 clients.
As stated by the commercial director of Volvo Car Russia Alexei Tarasov, the company has achieved a significant growth in sales during the first half 2021, outperforming the previous year, despite all difficulties caused by supply disruptions, shipping restrictions and semiconductor shortages. “It should also be noted that the results are also superior to the same period of 2019, by 16%” – he added.
