Moscow has launched 26 training electric buses since the beginning of 2021

RusAutoNews.- In 2021 Moscow has launched 26 training electric buses to help students of the Corporative University of Moscow Transport to practice and improve driver’s skills, as reported by the press office of Mosgortrans.

Moscow’s training buses have two cabins inside: one for a mentor driver with additional dashboard, a multimedia screen and an emergency brake pedal, and the other is for a trainee. Apart from the training buses, the Corporate University of Moscow Transport has unique transport simulators that were produced specially for Moscow. They help students to memorize routes and navigate faster through the city.

“Our main goal is to make the surface public transport convenient and safe for everyone. Before entering the bus routes, trainee drivers practice with mentors on the city routes. Thanks to the backup devices in the cabin of this training electric bus, the mentor can control the trainee while driving. Besides, the mentor also monitors all the indicators and keeps an eye on the location on the route. The first training buses have been launched at the beginning of this year, now there are 26 vehicles in the city”, said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.

More than 850 E-buses are currently operating in Moscow. In more than 3 years, these buses have transported about 140 million people in the city.

Mosgortrans is a state-owned company operating bus and electrical bus networks in Moscow.
