GAZ Group has entered the Bulgarian market

RusAutoNews.- GAZ Group has started the production of the Gazelle NN light commercial vehicles in Bulgaria, which are equipped with ecological class Euro-6 engines. Gazelle NN is the first model of the company in the Bulgarian market. Eight versions of the automobile have been made available for the customers at the initial stage of sales. The sales, warranty procedure and the service of the automobiles will be organised in cooperation with the largest automotive holding in Bulgaria Avto Union.

GAZ Group has started the sales of the Gazelle NN commercial vehicles in Bulgaria. The vehicle has a gross weight of 3.5 tonnes. The sales have been launched in Sofia, where a show-room and a service centre for GAZ automobiles have been established. There are plans to open sales centres in other cities of Bulgaria, such as Varna, Burgas, Plovdiv, Ruse and Stara Zagora.

Milen Kristov, the head of the GAZ department of Avto Union holding has made the following statement:

“Our holding has a 15-20% share of the Bulgarian automotive market. With Gazelle NN, we expect to increase our share to approximately 30% in the LCV market. We have already sold 140 vehicles, even before the official launch of sales. This prelude reflects the interest in our product and its attraction in the eyes of our clients. Currently, three out of ten major logistics companies have Gazelle NN vehicles in their fleets.

The biggest order has been placed by the courier company DPD. We have also received a pre-order from the Bulgarian IKEA. Supermarket chains, construction organisations and manufacturing companies are amongst other enterprises which show interest in our vehicles. They have taken a number of automobiles for trial. When you buy a Gazelle NN, you’ll have an automobile, ready to drive straight out of the gallery, since the vehicle does not need any modification, as in the products of some European brands, where you get a bare metal van, without a reinforced floor or fasteners etc. The 2 litres Volkswagen engine is another advantage of the vehicle, which has a positive connotation in our market”.

Leonid Dolgov, the Director of Exports at GAZ Group has said:

We received a warm welcome in Bulgaria. People have fond memories of our automobiles from the Soviet times and approach the GAZ brand with great respect. We have confidence in ourselves in the market, thanks to the production of the Gazelle NN model, equipped with the ecological class Euro-6 engine. We are glad to make cooperation with our local partners Avto Union, which will be responsible for the distribution of not only passenger cars, but also light commercial vehicles. Our partner also has great knowledge on our segment of the market and the demands of the Bulgarian customers”.
